A new challenger has entered the ring: United just launched a 50,000 mile *Business* Card offer. This goes hand-in-hand with their longstanding 30,000 miles personal card offer.

Finding the actual offer is a bit convoluted. You have to click the personal application link from the Cards for Travel page (or directly on Chase.com if you prefer), then select “Are you a business owner?” at the top-right.

I’m not sure why they’re doing it that way. Perhaps it will get easier after the card’s been out for a while. 🙂

The Annual Fee is waived during the first year (it’s $95 afterwards), and you’ll receive the 50,000 points after completing a $2,000 minimum spend. You’ll also get priority boarding, one free checked bag, and two passes to the United Club.

Should you get this card? Well, it depends. 50,000 miles is a lot better than 30,000 miles, and of course you could also double-up by getting both cards. Personally I’m not doing much flying on United or Star Alliance these days, but at the 50,000 rate I may take a look anyway. It never hurts to replenish a mileage balance, and I’m sure I can use them at some point.

Happy travels!
