Breaking news from the card that refuses to die: for a limited time, you can now earn an increased signup bonus with no minimum spend.
Many of you know that U.S. Airways and American Airlines are in the process of merging, with the U.S. Airways brand eventually disappearing in the night like so many airlines of old. But for some reason, U.S. Airways and its partner Barclays have continued to issue their Premier World Mastercard month after month—and now they’ve unexpectedly upped the offer.
You can now earn 50,000 miles (instead of 40,000) from a single transaction. There is no minimum spend to meet, and no additional commitment after making the first transaction.
In addition to the improved signup bonus, the card also offers the following benefits:
- First checked bag free on eligible bags for you and up to four companions on domestic U.S. Airways operated flights
- One companion certificate good for up to 2 guests to travel with you on a US Airways operated flight at $99 each, plus taxes and fees
- Get priority boarding (Zone 2) on U.S. Airways operated flights
- Earn miles on every purchase with 2 miles for every $1 you spend on US Airways and American Airlines purchases and 1 mile for every $1 on purchases everywhere else
At some point in 2015, U.S. Airways miles will become AA miles on a 1:1 basis. You can already use them for OneWorld partner awards, which often provide much better value than U.S. Airways or AA flights.
Remember: get this card, use it for a single transaction, and earn
40,000 50,000 miles. It’s as simple as that. I’ve had three of them and am going to try applying for a fourth. Miles are raining from the sky!
