The Empire Building Kit Is Here!

The big day has arrived!

Greetings from North Dakota, where I’m riding along the Empire Builder train en route to Montana, Washington, and eventually my home in Portland.

As promised, the Empire Building Kit is now live. This project will help a select group of people build a sustainable lifestyle business in one year by doing one thing every day.

Read more or order your own copy here.

This initial launch is strictly limited to 24 hours only.

***

Three Options. In an effort to serve people with different plans, desires, and budgets, I’ve created three versions of the kit. I think the middle one (Hail Caesar) will probably serve most people the best, but make your own decision. There is also an Alexander the Great version to help people who are already successful entrepreneurs achieve greater scale, and an Emperor-in-Training version for aspiring conquerors on a limited budget.

Free Webinar. In about three weeks, I’ll be hosting a private webinar for everyone in the inaugural group of EBK owners. During the webinar, the new emperors can ask any question they want… which is why I’m only taking orders for the next 24 hours. (This isn’t a gimmick, and I really will close the order page and stop taking money — watch and see.)

Next month we’ll relaunch the EBK with a number of affiliate partners, but on a smaller scale here at AONC. I won’t include the live webinar, and I also reserve the right to remove some of the materials or raise the price.

As I’ve said several times: if it’s not for you, that’s OK. But if it sounds like something that will help you, don’t wait, because it won’t be available very long.

Oh, and I’ve saved a couple of fun things for the launch today:

‘Empire Builder’ Bag Giveaway. One random buyer will win a free Empire Builder laptop bag courtesy of my friends at Tom Binh bags. We’ll draw from the buyer list at 5pm PST today – about eight hours from now.

Minnesota Video Adventures. Sometime around midnight, J.D. and I recorded a video of the setup we’re using to work from the train. Check it out here if you’d like.

Amtrak Birthday Party

On a side note, it’s also my birthday today. I don’t expect the entire world to care about my birthday, but two facts are worth noting:

1) Turning the old age of 32 may or may not produce the mysterious quality of “maturity” (let’s hope not), but it does mean that I officially have only three years left to go in my quest to visit every country in the world. Three years, sixty-two countries, and most of them are fairly difficult to get to—but so far, so good.

2) For a long time I didn’t want people to know when my birthday was because of some bad things that happened around that time when I was a kid. Whenever the first week of April rolled around, I’d try to find anything I could do other than think about cake or parties. Mostly, I tried to keep it a secret because I didn’t want any attention.

I wouldn’t say I’m crazy about birthdays now, but you know, people can change in their old age. So here I am on my appointed day of April 7th, writing to fun people from all over the world who mean a lot to me. Thanks for reading and sharing part of your life with me.

***

Alright, that’s all for now. It looks like our itinerary today will take us through Montana and on to Spokane, Washington late tonight. If you want the EBK, here is the info. If not, no worries.

Wishing you well from the rails,

Chris

P.S. Our internet access on the train is quite limited, but I’ll do my best to post your comments and monitor the shopping cart throughout the day.

Hey Chris, happy birthday! Enjoy your day, you’ve certainly found a great way to mark the occasion this year. I’m off now to peruse the empire options in properly considered detail…

Just got mine! So excited! Had huge epiphany in the shower this morning that brought some disparate parts of my idea together, finally. Coincidence? I think not.

BTW, my credit card details will tell you I’m in Arizona, I’m not, I’m in Cape Town but find my US credit card pretty handy. Looking forward to the next time you’re in South Africa and up for a meetup!

    Happy Birthday Chris!

I felt a great apprehension for my birthday this year for reasons that, let’s just say, comparable to yours and I decided to face it head on instead of hiding it and it turned out to be the best birthday I have had in many years, possibly the best one ever! Thanks to new friends both online and off. I hope you have a wonder filled day! I know you have made a difference in my life.

Good luck with the Internet situation! I had a disastrous incident with lack of Internet on the Empire Builder in 2006 (long story) but maybe it’s improved by then.

Happy Birthday!!! It’s a very busy/exciting day for you, I’m sure. I was in the camp of make the Empire Building Kit $365 so, much to my surprise, it is actually much less than that! I think you are going to end up helping a lot of people, more so than you already have. Keep up the great work and have a continued safe journey!

    HBTY, Chris!

If you change trains in Seattle or have a layover there, it would be fun to do a low-key meet-n-greet. Just say the word and I’ll stop by. (King Street Station is kind of a dive, but us Seattleites can make up for it with friendliness.)

Congratulations on another year of making a difference, Chris,

Happy Birthday! I tried avoiding making my birthday special for years, until I finally relented after well-intentioned friends requested that I “calm the ef down.” Oddly this helped.

Hope you have a prosperous day in North Dakota.
    Best,

Your EBK and the train journey remind me of Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged- a favorite book of mine. Ever read it?
I hope you have a most excellent birthday. I used to hide mine as well because I don’t care for the attention, but it makes other people happy to celebrate it so I quit being *weird about it.
Here’s to another year of adventure
    *cheers

    Happy Birthday (again), Chris!

I’m with you on the ‘birthday anxiety’ train. I’ve approached mine (which is also today, as you know) with a mixed sense of dread and excitement for about the last 18 years. It seems to always be a time of reflection of the previous year, and a wondering of “what have I really done with my life?”

Congrats on launching what looks to be an exciting product. After a discussion of its merits with my fiance over lunch, which happens soon, I hope to be among the early group of people. If it’s anything like the other products you’ve produced, it will be very amazing, indeed.

Enjoy the remainder of your train ride!

Happy birthday and congrats on the launch! As of right now, I am Emperor in Training :::tips hat::: At the end of the year–next April–I know I am going to be exactly where I need to be, and “Hail Caesar” will be the title of a blog post (it’s on my calendar :)

Good job on the price, too. Works for me!

Thanks you and have an awesome day and safe journey!

    Hi Chris,
Happy Day! Love the kit – here’s a question: I’m considering buying a franchise that’s well known in the US but not here in Calgary so needs lots of marketing, etc. – how well do the kits suit me? also wanted you to know that the Waffle Window was a family highlight of last summer’s trip to Portland thanks to your emails!

I had doubts about whether or not to get this kit, I have wanted to start a business of my own for as long as I can remember. I have always had difficulty with the details though, where to start, who to talk to, what to do. I also know that I get distracted easily so was afraid I’d not keep up with the ‘one thing every day’ idea. I decided not to try for the free copy figuring I’d end up ignoring it thinking no loss on my part and that would have been bad if I’d have gotten the free one, because that would have meant that someone who could have used it and would have wouldn’t get it. Anyway, I read (again) the contents of the EBK and said to myself, I have to start somewhere. So I spent the money from my savings to get the kit and I’m hoping there will be enough information and help in the first couple of months to replace that money back in to my savings from my business. I have a plan to move this summer and I will need every penny I can get. Thank you and Happy Birthday!

Hi Chris, I just wanted to leave a quick note here both for you and for anyone considering the EBK.

What finally tipped the scales and made me decide to purchase the EBK was thinking back over all of your articles I’ve received in my inbox over the past 6-8 months or so (for free nonetheless!), and how much fantastic, pertinent, and (to use a previous commenter’s words) authentic information is contained in them. If the EBK is anything like your work up until now, then I know I have made a very sound investment. Thanks for generously sharing your knowledge and for motivating people to make meaningful changes one realistic step at a time.

Happy Birthday, Chris. I’m a bit belated, but I think that just retards the aging process, right? Anyway, congrats on everything. May 32 be even more profound and gratifying that every year leading up to it!
