    Good stuff, Chris!

I have a good feeling about 2010. It’s the year we’re all going to rock and inject even more awesomeness into our blue and beautiful planet.

    Happy New Year’s!

The story of my life! Here’s to 2010 Chris. Thanks for leading the way.

  • Ken Montville says:

Thanks for the New Year’s wishes! I look forward to an awesome 2010 following your writing and learning what it takes to really live and enjoy life! Onward to a rock ’em, sock ’em 2010!

  • Ami says:

Haha! What a powerful attitude. 2010 will be awesome because I know what I want and, thanks to your blog and others, I know I can do it. Keep it up!

  • LeoArtetaV says:

An astonishing and unavoidable truth! Thanks Chris! I wish you and this great community have a really amazing and positive 2010.

  • Joel Gutiérrez says:

Thank you for your wishes Chris.
I KNOW 2010 will be a terrific year.
Greetings to all from Guadalajara, Mexico!

  • Wyman says:

I plan to make this my year to slow down (not stop) on learning and do more doing. My first goal is making 10k/mo. Have a happy and prosperous new year. Thanks to you Chris for all you do. Thanks to all who make the comments section just as interesting.

  • tobias says:

Very nice, thanks for that. In fact I don’t have a lot of people telling me that I can’t, but I do have the same nagging inner voice of self-doubt that I’m sure many people do – so now I’ve got a good comeback… now that I think of it, those are two very powerful words! (I’ve been blogging about this for a bit – feel free to follow the link to read more, I’d love to hear what people think…)

  • Amanda Wang says:

Thanks Chris! I’m not one to leave comments, but I’ve discovered your writings and ideas this year and have got to say how much it has encouraged me to begin my own little quest for world domination — mine somehow has to do with amateur boxing! Who would’ve known?!

Thanks for giving us the tools, the heart and the belief that we can do it! To an exciting and promising new year!

  • Patti says:

Thanks for the ‘closing’ post; I agree wholeheartedly, no matter how difficult it can be in reality. I’ve enjoyed your blog since discovering it a few months back. Looking forward to 2010!

  • Izabella says:

Thanks, Chris, the message couldn’t be timelier… I regularly encounter people who tell me that I can’t. I spent much of 2009 under their influence. But something shifted for me recently. Maybe it’s a milestone birthday that’s coming up or something else, but I suddenly have gotten it through my head that those are just opinions. For every person in my life who tells me that I can’t, I have another (or two or three) who tell me that I can and cheer me on.

It’s a matter of which opinions I choose to believe in, and why would I choose (why have I chosen in the past?) to believe in the ones who doubt? Hopefully, of course, at some point, we all reach a point where NOBODY’S opinion actually matters and the only voice we’re listening to is our own… but until then – believe in the ones who say that yes you can! “Watch me” is exactly what I’ve been wanting to say to the skeptics.

I can’t wait to show them exactly how wrong they’ve been!

  • Jeffrey Luke says:

Great photo. Thanks for the inspiration! 2010 will be my best year ever, thanks to surrounding myself with people like you. Giddy up!

  • Joana says:

Thanks for continually providing me with inspiration! You’ve created a great community of special people and I feel honored to be a part of it.

Happy New Year and best wishes to all in 2010!

  • Joel D Canfield says:

Chris, this is your best post all year. Honest. (Not that there was anything amiss with the other posts, but this was what I needed today, right now, this minute.)

That’s my mantra for 2010: Oh yeah? Watch me.

  • MoneyEnergy says:

All the best for 2010! Thanks for inspiring us all and giving us the good life reminders – “living well is the best revenge!” 🙂

  • Joseph Ratliff says:

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog this year…great stuff.

I believe there is a Chinese proverb that says something like (I might not have it word for word) :

“Those who think about doing something, are usually passed up by someone already doing it.”

    Have a great 2010 Chris!

  • Patrenia says:

I LOVE this!!! I must print this and put it in plain view as a daily reminder. As Tobias said above, I don’t have really the outer naysayers (at least they don’t come straight out and tell me), but I do have the inner doubts that hover over sometimes.

Keep inspiring us to do what we can to change the world!

  • Karen says:

    Hey Chris,

Thanks for all of the awesome content in 2009. Your writing and website has inspired me beyond words this year, so thank you. Happy New Year. 🙂

    Karen

  • Oleg Mokhov says:

Chris, this reminds me of a Chinese proverb you quoted in your manifesto:

“The person who says something is impossible should not interrupt the person who is doing it.”

Thanks for sharing another great quote. This time, via stylish photo.

    Here’s to a super-kick-butt-get-the-cape-Super-Mario-World-style 2010,
    Oleg

  • Joseph Ratliff says:

@ Oleg, that’s the proverb I was trying to think of (guess I should have just looked it up in Google). And I second your Super Mario World style 2010! 🙂

  • Byron says:

This is perfect. I am ALL in!

  • Brett says:

Awesome, awesome way to wrap up 2009. Great quote, great photo, and oh — yeah, I’ll share my glorious stories from 2010.

@Oleg Mokhov: Dude, the raccoon suit from SMB3 was so much better than the dumb cape.

  • Al says:

    The photo says it all.

    🙂

    Happy New Year All!!

    Alex

  • Michael says:

    Feliz Año Nuevo!

  • RoX says:

  • gabriela masala says:

    Timeless, priceless, awesome!
    “Watch me”…that says it all.

2010 promises to be the best year yet!

  • Darren Lehane says:

    Great photo, Chris!

2010 is going to be one hell of a great year.

I’ve got some huge decisions to make and hopefully everything will turn out well for us all!

    Keep up the great work!

    Regards,
    Darren.

  • Jim says:

My eldest brother’s reply when someone said “I can’t” was “There’s no such thing as can’t”. There is ‘I don’t want to try’ but if you really want to do something, you can find a way. That was his legacy to me.

  • Philip Finlay-Bryan says:

You started all this mate. Who do you think you are? Profoundly changing my universe? Bit cheeky I think. Oh well I shall be taking over The Internet in a bit. • Pam Goulah says:

Just what I needed to read! Thanks for a great year of reading and learning Chris! I look forward to your mentoring in 2010!

  • Daniel says:

This is even better than Gary Vaynerchuk’s video about “The Secret 2.0” and wicked inspiring. And as brief.

  • Meg says:

Hahaha, that is PERFECT. That picture is an epic win. I love it. (And I’ve already said that before… I hope to do it a bunch more times in 2010.)

    So… Bring it. I’m ready. 😛

  • Jon says:

Exactly. Make 2010 a kick ass year 😉

  • Candy Paull says:

Chris, thank you for helping me catch a vision of what is possible for an Internet based business that is positive and personal. Art + Money has been especially inspirational. You’re leading the way and I’m following. Here’s a great quote from Paul Hawken: “Don’t be put off by people who know what is not possible. Do what needs to be done, and check to see if it was impossible only after you are done.” Happy 2010!

  • Melissa McDaniel says:

I received this message just when I needed to hear it. Thank you!

Here’s to an amazing 2010 for everyone here!

  • Tanner says:

Love it! Set as my background and will be a daily reminder on where I want to go in life.

  • flip says:

Nice! As i was standing on our balcony last night, there’s an assurance in the air that says 2010 will be a great year for all of us

Happy New Year Chris! Keep on doing what you’re doing…

  • Hayden Tompkins says:

  • Shwetha Maiya says:

Wonderful! I am all set for 2010. . Surely, Watch me 🙂 Thanks and a very happy new year to you too. .

  • Gianni says:

Chris, so many were the things I learned from you and by you in 2009. I’m simply flabbergasted. So grateful you exist. Next stop, your book – and who knows which other inspirations.

  • Vince says:

I don’t know why, but I freaking love this post. Well put. Talk about a good post to start off the new year

  • Havana says:

Hope you have a fantastic new year, Chris! Can’t wait to see what happens in 2010!

  • Sheila the Wonderbink says:

I’ll need to keep that one handy for this year, because I’m heading down a path I never expected I’d be going down and it feels more RIGHT than anything I’ve done in a long time.

  • Sonny Gill says:

Amen to this, Chris. Absolutely love the quote and live by a similar one: ‘Success is the Greatest Revenge’

    Happy New Year to you!

  • Graham Phoenix says:

I remember the look on the girl’s face! We were in T2 (a cool tea shop in Melbourne), the girl serving asked us what we were doing and where we come from. We told her we were travelling and had no home. She stopped and looked amazed. “Cool, that’s what I want to do.” She said. “So, go and do it.” We said. Usually we then get the questions ans stories, but she actually looked as if she might actually go there. I can see her saying, “Watch Me!”

  • Tiffany Thompson says:

Thanks, Chris! This is always a great message. Unfortunately, the person that tells me “I can’t” the most is my inner critic! Be gone! Looking forward to great things from you (and me, and all of us) in 20 “oh” 10!

  • Betsy Talbot says:

Hi, Chris. I agree with some of the other commenters that the negative voice for me is usually internal. When I think of all I’ve accomplished – not too shabby – I then think of how much more it could have been without the negative voice (that’s the negative voice blaming the negative voice – can you see how twisted this gets?!).

I’ve decided to start journaling this year to get my personal thoughts on paper. Seeing them in writing instead of letting them swirl around my head is going to be an easier way to refute them, for sure. Good luck to the rest of you in silencing your inner critic this year!

  • Earl says:

As if the positive energy at the start of 2010 wasn’t enough! It’s amazing how powerful 26 simple words can be. Wishing you much happiness in 2010!

  • Jeffrey Tang says:

Simple and powerful. Gets me thinking about finding better ways to put words and images together in the content I’m creating (instead of just finding something on istockphoto).

  • Brad Edgar says:

It’s incredible how inspiring a picture can be. I’m hoping to make some drastic changes in my lifestyle this year.

Not sure I will be quitting my job but I sure am looking forward to trying to start some sort of business that is yet to be determined. I am looking forward to checking out your website on the daily to get the inspiration I need to do so.

    Thanks Chris.

  • logos coaching says:

There is a great feeling about this year. Maybe because it is the first one we can all use twenty when saying the year.

  • Suzannah Scully says:

What a cool photo and message! I was just introduced to your website and love your message.

After starting my own business myself, despite all of the naysayers, I have learned to always trust my instinct and follow what I love. People always speak from their own fears and try to hold you back. Thanks for spreading the good word.

    Here’s to 2010!

My son is building a craft beer brewery in Durham, NC (Fullsteam.ag). He has been told by some people that what he is trying to do will not fly. He is in the forefront of creating a Southern agricultural beer using products from the south. He has been a non-conformist since high school all through Duke’s MBA program. He is a great joy to his non-conforming father.
