I do not usually send my main off to random embassies or consulates whenever possible. If they don't come through, I'll still be able to travel, but it will create a big headache in trying to change the flight out of Eritrea. Thanks, Rahul!

I don't travel nearly as much as you do, but I would not want to be without my passport for more than a week. In fact, so far my policy has been that if I can't go get the Visa in person, I won't visit the country. That might not work in the long term, but I probably will avoid any country that needs that much time to decide whether I am worthy of entering it.
