At least in your case a flight attendant recognized the error! On my United flight from Narita to Bangkok back in October I was also "welcomed to the U.S." and no one knew the difference. Apparently. Am enjoying your postings and especially can relate to your experiences in Krungthep and Vientiane. I'm in NE Thailand ("Isan") and would have loved to have been in Bangkok when you passed through. (I also was in Vientiane in November to get a Tourist Visa to allow me to stay an additional 60 days.) Continued success on your travels. Happy Trails. Ha!
